Hammer of mass 500 gram moving at 50 metre per second strikes and in the next of them are in very short time of 0.01 second what is the force of the nail on the hammer

m = 500g = 0.5kg

u = 50 m/s

v = 0

t = 0.01 s

a = (v-u) /t = (0-50) /0.01 = -50/0.01

= -5000 m/s

F = ma

= 0.5×-5000

=-2,500 N
