Thanks and same to you.

Chlorine and Electron Affinity. As Fluorine sits atop chlorine in the periodic table, most people expect it to have the highest electron affinity, but this is not the case. Fluorine is a small atom with a small amount of space available in its 2p orbital.
Hope it's help you

smartyyash7: hehehh
amee5454: really?
smartyyash7: hmm
smartyyash7: @sayad
yashNeha: Thks yrr @akshaya

yashNeha: what happen ???
smartyyash7: nothing

This is because the size of fluorine is very small as compared to chlorine atom and due to its small size there are strong inner repulsion among valance electrons and so the outer electron does not feel the attraction from the nucleus .So affinity of fluorine is less than chlorine

yashNeha: Inner repulsion will me in case of chlorine also ??
yashNeha: will u plzz elaborate ur answer ???
