Dear Diary
This was one of the best days of my life. Two reasons (i) I learnt to let go of of shyness and hesistant attitude and (ii) I was able to finally give wings to my hidden passion. It so happened while reading the newspaper on 8 April 2020, I came across an advertisement about an on-the-spot painting competition for school students. I knew I could paint well but not many knew about my this skill. I used to always paint when no is around and used to hide my drawings in the cupboard. This is because while i knew i had the skill, I was not sure if my skill was good enough to others. Moreover, it was on-the-spot competition which means the topic would be given just before the competition was to start. However, seeing the advertisement I was tempted to participate and decided may be it was time to try my luck. Well, I did fear a little thinking how it would be if did not win... I decided to go ahead. Today was the competition and they gave the topic "Indian Street Scene". The topic was interesting but quite challenging since most people would have ideas about such a topic. And i wanted to makes sure what I drew stands out. The competition was over and the results were announced. And guess what! I won the first place. Yes...I had won..I was so excited and when I went on the stage to receive the prize and held the cup I felt i was on top of the world. This was the first time I participated in any painting competition and despite being my first time, I won, that too, the first prize. I was so happy that this moment gave me the confidence to take my passion for painting forward. It was that newspaper advertisement that had given me the courage to participate. probably it was just a simple advertisement but there was something about that, because of which today I won!!!

Dear diary,
I am very happy to share with you my happiness, of winning over my fear of being judged and misinterpreted. On March 3, 2020, I came across an article which helped me reach this position.
The article was so beautifully written, that I was able to correlate every word with my personal shortcomings. The article was about the announcement of competition and why one should participate in that.
The competition, which article suggested for participation was 'On-the-spot Painting Competition'. Though I am confident in my painting, not many people have seen the potential in me till now.
I would always think that maybe painting is not my cup of tea, just due to lack of recognition or praise.
This always made me take one step backwards. But thanks to that article, I participated in the competition.
And to my astonishment, my painting won first prize and the judge, who is a renowned artist, provided me with an extraordinary opportunity for training under his guidance.
Not only my skill got recognition, but also my confidence boosted a hundred times. I am looking forward to joining that internship, with permission from my school.
Everyone is so proud of me that my happiness knows no bounds at present.
