The Poet is optimistic otherwise we human being always complain about suffering, perils, displeasure, scanty resources etc. But the poet interpretes that even a moment of happiness affects your life positively that does not lasts longer inly but also serves as cushion to bear the hardships in future. The moments of happiness encourages you to undergo any perils, hardships, agonies, failure etc smoothly.

Generally we measure intencity of the moments of sadness with the mountains whose height is immeasurable and of our moments of blissfully happiness with grain of sand.

But the poet has given a reverse twist to this general presumption and tried to persuade everyone to be positive and in the memory and influence of happy moments in the past face the present disappointment, suffering etc.
