<b > Answer :- An electromagnet is a temporary magnet which can be produced by a strong magnetic field which is produced inside a solenoid by placing a magnetic substance such as soft iron. The reason for using soft iron as core in an electromagnet instead of steel is that soft iron can be very easily magnetised as well as demagnetised.
