The story is about a little duck named Evelyn who made a card for his Grandmother. He wants to deliver it to her, but was nearly hit by a car when crossing the street. His Mother then teaches him to “Look left, look right, look left again”. She walks with him across several streets to make it to his Grandma’s house. Each time they practice and see what things they need to look out for. There are cars, buses, fire trucks, a busy intersection with a stop light, and even a train crossing. They practice their rule each time and make it safely there and back.
After that day they practice many more times together until his Mother decides he is ready to try crossing the street all on his own. She watches him make it safely across the street to his Grandma’s house for a visit...
