The Harappan Civilization also called Indus Valley Civilization extended with a time period from 2600 -1900 BCE.
The Harappan Civilization was as big as from Afghanistan to northwest India.
It was the major civilization that developed along the banks of Indus River.
The discovery of Harappan civilization started in 1861.But at that time the Archaeological Survey Of India ( founded by British) didn't know that the objects belonged to the Bronze Age.
It was in 1912 , the British got more and more number of seals that got Sir Hubert Marshall to start a excavation campaign at Harappa in 1920s
The excavation still continued as late as 1990s , now the archaeologists are still digging to get more information about the civilization.
