★ Question ::
Explain the important points on how we clear the forests for production of land or construction of building.
★ Solution ::
Well, its absolutely true that forests are cleared for many purposes . In India, especially the percentage of forest has been decreases rapidly since the industrial growth. Clearing of forest can be regarded as two opinions that is positive and negative. Let's look at both of them.
• Positive Aspect ::
We see that population of India is increasing rapidly. This new population requires more place to live and more food to eat. Even it can't be ignored that India has limited land resource. This gives the only option for humans to shift to clearing of forests to satisfy these needs. Overall, we can say we people are only sowing the seeds of deforestation. The clearing of forests is lengthy and complicated task. It is done by several teams working together in an efficient manners. Firstly using mechanised saw and chain saw vehicles, huge trees are cut into shorter ones. Then people using different devices clear the trees to their bottom most part. Again using other devices team levels the ground and thus finally they are gravelled or cemented according to the purpose.
• Negative Aspects ::
We know the forests are an essential part of our living. From beginning of human civilisation, they serve as the provider for basic needs of humans like food for eating, bamboo for making things and houses, logs for burning,
Now if we keep on clearing forest at same pace, then after some decades, we won't be left with much forest to provide our needs. Even now forests contribute largely to help humans to carry on their daily activities. Forests even provide oxygen for breathing. If forests won't be there, then humans won't get sufficient oxygen to breathe and live. Even forests have an important role in causing rainfall which is beneficial for agricultural and other processes of life. If there won't be forests, then there won't be rainfall and thus there won't be sufficient water to drink. Thus whatever process of life we see, forests play an eminent role in it.
