How much is 5 larger than 2
=3 (subtract 2 from 5)
How much does 4 exceed 3
=1 ( subtract 3 from 4)

Therefore , answer to your question is :-
$7x { }^{2} + 2y {}^{2}$
and
-2^{3} + 13a^{2} + 10a -1
