Answer:

Hardik's age present is 16 years, his father's age is 45 years, Hardik's mother is younger than his father by 9 years.

Hence Hardik's mother age = 45 -9 = 36

1) Ratio of Hardik's age to his mother's age at present.

= 16:36 = 4:9(simplest form)

2) Ratio of Hardik's age to his mother's age when he was 10 years old.

(Hardik's age is 10 years old. Mother's age =36-6 =30)

= 10:30 = 1:3 (simplest form)

Answer:

  • 4 : 9
  • 1 : 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Present Age of Hardik = 16 yrs
  • Present Age of his father = 45 yrs
  • His mother is 9 years younger than his father => Present Age of his mother = 45 - 9 = 36 yrs

To find:

  • Ratio of Hardik's age to his mother's age at present
  • Ratio of Hardik's age to his mother's age when he was 10 years old

Solution:

Hardik's age = 16 yrs

Mother's present age = 36 yrs

Ratio = 16 : 36 = 4 : 9

When he is 16 years old, his mother is 36 year old

When he was 10 years old ( 16 - 6 ),

his mother will be ( 36 - 6 ) years old

= 30 years old

Ratio = 10 : 30 = 1 : 3
