Although Subhash Chandra Bose came from an affluent Bengali family in Cuttack, Orissa and later went on to have his education at the Cambridge University, he still faced a lot of hardships while fighting for India's independence.

In 1921, Bose was arrested on suspicion of terrorism for boycotting the Britisher's celebrations and was sent to Alipore jail and later to Mandalay Jail in Burma.

In 20 years, Bose was incarcerated 11 times by the British in India or in Burma. During the mid-1930s, he was exiled by the British from India to Europe.

Later in 1945, many theories were put forward concerning his possible death and survival.
