Hari bought an old scooter for Rs. 13,700 and spent Rs. 2,300 for repair. Then he sold if for 20,000. Is there a loss (or) gain? If so, what percentage ?​

Money he spent on its repair - ₹ 2,300 ( overhead expense )

Hence the total Cost price ( CP ) is ₹ 13,700 + ₹ 2,300

= ₹ 16,000

Then he sold it for ₹ 20,000 which is the SP.

Hence SP > CP, so there is a gain.

Gain - SP - CP

= ₹ 20,000 - ₹ 16,000

= ₹ 4,000

Gain% = Profit/CP × 100

= 4,000/16,000 × 100

= 25%
