Hari Lal invested all his amount at 10% p.a compounded annually for 2 years and Hari Prasad invested 1/4th amount at 10% p.a compound interest (annually) and rest at r% per annum at simple interest for the same 2 years period. The amount received by both at the end of 2 year is same. What is the value of r?​

Cancel p on both sides

[1+10/100]^2-1/4[1+10/100]^2=3*2*r/4*100+3/4

3/4[1+10/100]^2=3/4[2r/100+1]

Cancel 3/4 on both sides

121/100=2r+100/100

Cancel 100 on both sides

121-100=2r

2r=21=10.5
