Flattery is used by those persons who actually wants some work to be done from second person ,and thus we cannot make friends using flattery. Hari Singh wasn't lacking of love and empathy but as he was a thief by his profession he couldn't make friends and thus he thought that flattery can help him for the same .But truly the bond of Friendship can only be formed on the base of kindness towards others, helping nature and truthfulness in minds .These were my views regarding the topic of friendship
