harish has twice as manu sweet as dora. after eating 18 sweet each. shr has five times as many as dora. how many sweet and harish start with?

Let no. of sweets with dora be = x

Therefore , no. of sweets with harish = 2x

A.T.Q ,

2x-18 = 5(x-18)

Solving this ... We get,

2x - 18 = 5x - 90

Now ,

2x - 5x = -90 + 18

-3x = -72

3x = 72 ( minus cancels out with minus )

X = 24

No. Of sweets with Harish = 2x ( stated above )

So, Harish starts with 2 * 24 = 48 sweets
