Harish sold a bicycle at 8 percent gain. Had it been sold for rupees 375 more, the gain would have been 14 percent . Find the cost price of the bicycle

CP = x

8 = Profit/x x 100

8x = (SP - CP) x 100

8x = (SP - x) 100

8x = 100SP - 100x

Sp = 108x/100

SP is 375 more now and profit 14%

14 = Profit/CP x 100

14 = profit/x  x 100

14x = (SP - CP)100

14x = 100SP - 100x

100SP = 114x

SP = 114x/100

2nd SP - 1st SP = 375

114x/100 - 108/100 = 375

6x/100 = 375

x = 375 x 100/6 = 6250

CP of Bicycle = Rs. 6250
