"The Harlequin Shrimp is identified by blue spots in white body. The female shrimp is larger than the male shrimp.

They are very selective in what they eat. They eat only echinoderms, importantly starfish and occasionally on urchin species.

Starfish is the vital source of food which should be supplied with Harlequin Shrimp. The adult of harlequin shrimp takes urchins as their food.

Since it takes starfish as the primary food, the population of starfish is controlled.
