Answer:

Cost of hat = Rs.70

Cost of a deck of cards = Rs.40

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the price of 1 hat and a deck of cards be Rs.x and Rs.y respectively.

According to the question,

3x + y = 250

2x + 2y = 220

We will solve these eqns by substitution method,

3x = 250 - y

x = 250 - y/3

2(250 - y/3) + 2y = 220

500 -2y + 6y = 220 × 3

500 + 4y = 660

4y = 160

y = 40

2x + 2(40) = 220

2x + 80 = 220

2x = 140

x = 70

Therefore the cost of each hat and a deck of cards is Rs.70and Rs. 40 respectively.

Hope this helps you!!!
