The dangers are mainly due to TOXINS produced by microorganisms.
These microorganisms are either harmless(EX; Lactic acid bacteria in curd,yoghurt,) HARMFUL(ex;E.COLI, MUCOR) & SOME ARE BENEFICIAL TOO( probiotic bacteria in YOGHURTS,ICE CREAM etc).
all the dangers are due to the toxic metabolites of the HARMFUL PATHOGENIC bacteria. we call this as FOOD POISONING.
certain toxins like BOTULINUM TOXIN,AFLOTINS WILL CAUSES DEATH ALSO, IF PRESENT IN SMALL AMOUNTS ALSO LEADING TO DEATH.
other issues are related to organ failures,metabolic imbalances etc.
