Harry, Abdul and Ganesh started a business by contributing Rs. 20000, Rs. 40000 and Rs. 80000
respectively. After 1/2 a year Harry doubles his contribution and Abdul withdraws 3/4 of his investment.
Again after 3 months, Abdul invests five times more than the investment of his previous three months and
Ganesh halves his investment. At the end of the year the business returned a profit of Rs. 135000, which
was divided amongst the 3 men, proportionate to the amount and duration of their investment in the
enterprise. What was Harry's share in the profit?

Answer:

30412(approximately)

Step-by-step explanation:

Harry contribution at the starting of the year=20000

Abdul contribution at the starting of the year=40000

Ganesh contribution at the starting of the year=80000

After 6months Abdul withdraws \frac{3}{4} th of the investment

therefore,his contribution after 6months remain 10000.

After 6 months Harry doubles his investment therefore,his contribution after 6months remain 40000.

Again after 3months Ganesh halves his Investment therefore,his contribution after 9 months remains 40000.

After 3months Abdul invests 5 times more than the investment of his previous 3 months therefore, his contribution remains 50000

To calculate Harry's profit we have to calculate his contribution in the total investment

Harry contribution amongst 3 of his friends for 1st 6months=\frac{20000}{140000}

Harry contribution amongst 3 of his friends for next 3 months= \frac{40000}{130000}

Harry contribution  amaongst 3 of his friends for next 3 months=\frac{40000}{130000}

The profit made by the company at the end of the year is 135000

Harry's profit for first six months is\frac{20000}{140000}\times67500=9642

Harry's profit for next three months is\frac{40000}{130000}\times33750=10384

Harry's profit for next three months is \frac{40000}{130000}\times33750=10384

adding the profits for 12 months 9642+10384+10384=30412

Answer:

30000

Step-by-step explanation:

for 6 months ,Hary's contribution = 20,000 * 6 = 1,20,000

for 6 months, Abdul's contribution = 40,000 *6 = 2,40,000

for 6 months, Ganesha's contribution = 80,000 * 6 = 4,80,000

from 6 to 9 months, Hary's contribution = 40,000 * 3 = 1,20,000

from 6 to 9 months, Abdul's contribution = 10,000 * 3 = 30,000

from 6 to 9 months, Ganesha's contribution = 80,000 * 3 = 2,40,000

from 9 to 12 months, Hary's contribution = 40,000 * 3 = 1,20,000

from 9 to 12 months, Abdul's contribution = 50,000 * 3 = 1,50,000

from 9 to 12 months, Ganesha's contribution = 40,000 * 3 = 1,20,000

Now total contribution made by:

Hary = 1,20,000 + 1,20,000 + 1,20,000 = 3,60,000

Abdul = 2,40,000 + 30,000 + 1,50,000 = 4,20,000

Ganesha = 4,80,000 + 2,40,000 + 1,20,000 = 8,40,000

Hary:Abdul:Ganesha = 36:42:84 = 6:7:14

Hary's contribution = (6/(6+7+14))* 1,35,000 = 6*1,35,000/27 = 30,000
