Harsha and Smitha are two friends have post graduation in HR management from a
reputed B school. From the college days itself both of them were friendly and share
a good bonding. After completing the course, both got the job in the same
organization Hy-tech technology but on a different portfolio. Based on the grades,
Harsha was appointed in the HR department as a counselor and Smitha in Finance
department as a finance executive. Harsha has a friendly nature, while Smitha is
silent and little egoistic and help people when approached personally.
While working Harsha because of her nature got close to other employees in the
office, but Smitha being reserved wasn't able to develop the kind of relationship
that Harha had in the organization. However, performance wise, both were doing
really well and company do not want any of them to leave.
One day the manager of Hy-tech technology solutions receive an email from
Smitha. In the email she mentioned that she wants to resign. The manager Mr.
Mehta was shocked looking at this mail and immediately called Harsha to know
why Smitha is leaving. Harsha said, she is not aware of the reason. Then, Mr
Mehta called Smitha and talked to her. He tried to open his mind. When Smitha
narrated the reason as why she want to leave the organization, he was shocked.
Smitha's reason for leaving the organization was she was feeling ignored,
especially when Harsha accompany her. Because of her friendly nature, Harhsa
used to receive more importance.
By listening this statement Mr. Mehata felt that it is not going to be very difficult
to stop his resignation. mr. mehata explained smitha the resons for such partial
behavior of the employee

2. Find the reason why smitha gave her resignation
3. What precautions would Mr. Mehata take to further avoid such kind of
situation?
