Let 'x' be the price of the product before adding tax.

(i) As per question,

     x  +  $\frac{15x}{100}$   =  7475

⇒  $\frac{100x + 15x}{100}$   =  7475

⇒   115x        =  747500

⇒        x        =  $\frac{747500}{115}$

∴         x        =  6500

Therefore the price before tax was added is Rs. 6500

(ii) Tax amount = Price after adding tax - Price before adding tax

                         =  7475 - 6500

                         = Rs. 975

Therefore, the tax amount is Rs. 975
