Gradually one of these dynasties ruling at Thanesar in Haryana extended its authority over all the other feudatories.

The ruler who brought (his about was Harshavardhana (AD 606-47). As a result of the excavation of ‘Harsha ka Tila’ in Thanesar, some brick buildings have been discovered, but they cannot be taken to be parts of a palace.
