Given:

  • Amount for buying cloth of shirt per metre = Rs. 50
  • Amount for buying cloth of trousers per metre = Rs. 90
  • Total amount of sale = Rs. 36600

To Find:

Number of trouser material bought by Hasan.

Solution:

Let 2x metre of trouser material and 3x metre of shirt material be bought by him.

According to the given information,

Selling price of shirt material per metre = Rs. \: 50 +50 \times (\frac{12}{100} ) = Rs. \: 56

Selling price of trouser material per metre = Rs.\: 90 + 90 \times (\frac{10}{100} ) = Rs. \: 99

Total amount of sale = Rs. 36600

According to the question,

(2x \times 99)+(3x \times 56)=36600\\\implies 198x+168x=36600\\\implies 366x=36600

Now, finding the value of x

\implies x=\frac{36600}{366} \\\implies x= 100

Total trouser material he bought = 2x=2\times 100 = \boxed{200 \:m}

Therefore, he bought 200 m of trouser material.
