Have you ever adopted a non-traditional approach to manage a project/situation or to solve a problem? Briefly describe the project/situation or the problem, the approach and the outcomes.

At my company there was a situation in which there were 2 Techniques for developing the Acceptance Test Suit of scripts –

1.Descriptive Technique: which is laborious and cumbersome.

2.Object Repository (OR) Technique

—a good feature provided by the testing tool QTP(Quick Test Professional).

My Manager was reluctant to work with the OR technique thinking that Descriptive is the best method.

Actions: I used a data based approach for decision making, listed the pros and cons of both the methods, made a presentation and managed to convince my Manager and even the Manager (Client) in US which was much difficult.

After Design Approval the coding is done and went for the successful development of the Acceptance Test scripts.
