yes i had that experience
one of my classmate was very weak in his studies he was a lazy boy and not interested to study at all . everyone monk at him and avoid him and every one use to call him a lazy boy or with some other nick name too.
his parents was so sad even i felt bad of him . but one day a elocution competition was held he also participated in it and he got first in that competition and he was good in sports too.
we understood that he was good in singing and a good player in sports too.
his weakness is only that he doesn't study . everyone appreciated him for his first rank in that competition . he felt so happy on hearing that .
he started to study , everyone helped him in his study and teacher too was so supportive to him . for the last exam he got good marks .
everyone stopped calling him as a lazy boy and started to call him the topper he was so happy .
his hard work was appreciated and it helps us to change his bad impression on him
