Yes! I think self-reflection is the best possible thing you can do to improve.
For me, I used to be very manipulative. I lied to every single person I met. They were little lies, and they weren’t too far from the truth, and they got the same point across as the truth, so I really didn’t see anything wrong with it. More specifically, I didn’t give it a second thought. At the beginning of this year I found my lies getting bigger, and it took some serious reflection on why I lie; what do I aim to accomplish; would the people around me be upset if they knew all of the lies I told them?
A little bit of self reflection led me to the first honest conversation of my life, with my boyfriend, who I went from on the verge of breakup to now being closer than ever. Some people actually like me less because I’m not constantly putting on a show for them, but I feel like everything in my life is as it should be. It’s a good feeling.
Hope it works
