we see air rising up on a hot day

anirbinno: This happens actually because of the bending of light. When there is a temp diff between two gases, the light passing through it bends. I'm not sure how this works but it does.

yes I had passed through a farmland during a hot summer day. the air above the land is shimmering because of the reflected back light radiation.
