L.C.M. of 2.5, 0.5 and 0.175

The L.C.M. of two or more fractions = L.C.M. of numerators/H.C.F. of denominators

First of all remove the decimals and convert these into fractions.

2.5 = 25/10

0.5 = 5/10

0.175 = 175/1000

Now, first we will find the L.C.M. of numerators.

L.C.M. of 25, 5 and 175

25 = 5*5

5 = 5

175 = 5*5*7

= 5*5*7

= 175

L.C.M. of 25, 5 and 175 = 175

Now, we will find out the H.C.F. of denominators.

H.C.F. of 10, 10, 1000

10 = 2*5

10 = 2*5

1000 = 2*2*2*5*5*5

H.C.F. of 10, 10 and 1000 = 2*5 = 10

Thus,

L.C.M. of Numerators/H.C.F. of denominators

= 175/10

= 17.5

Therefore, L.C.M. of 2.5, 0.5 and 0.175 is 17.5

Solution :-

L.C.M. of 2.5, 0.5 and 0.175

The L.C.M. of two or more fractions = L.C.M. of numerators/H.C.F. of denominators

First of all remove the decimals and convert these into fractions.

2.5 = 25/10
0.5 = 5/10
0.175 = 175/1000

Now, first we will find the L.C.M. of numerators.
L.C.M. of 25, 5 and 175

25 = 5*5
5 = 5
175 = 5*5*7
= 5*5*7
= 175
L.C.M. of 25, 5 and 175 = 175

Now, we will find out the H.C.F. of denominators.
H.C.F. of 10, 10, 1000
10 = 2*5
10 = 2*5
1000 = 2*2*2*5*5*5
H.C.F. of 10, 10 and 1000 = 2*5 = 10

Thus,
L.C.M. of Numerators/H.C.F. of denominators
= 175/10
= 17.5

Therefore, L.C.M. of 2.5, 0.5 and 0.175 is 17.5
