HCF of two co-primes is 1.

  • Two numbers are said to be co prime/relatively prime/mutually prime if their highest common factor (H.C.F) is 1.

  • Every prime number have only two factors i.e 1 and the number itself.

  • For example, 2 and 3 are two prime numbers. Factors of 2 are 1, 2 and factors of 3 are 1, 3. The only common factor is 1 and hence is co-prime.

  • The only common factor between them is 1 and hence they are co-prime.
