Given :   x² - xy   - 2y²   and 2x² - xy - y²

To Find : HCF

Solution:  

HCF - Highest Common Factor

x² - xy   - 2y²

2x² - xy - y²

x² - xy   - 2y²

= x² - 2xy + xy   - 2y²

= x(x - 2y) + y(x - 2y)

= (x - 2y)(x + y)

2x² - xy - y²

= 2x² - 2xy  +xy - y²

= 2x(x - y) + y(x - y)

= (2x + y)(x-y)

No common factor

HCF = 1
