Hey.......!!! here is ur answer.........☺️☺️☺️

Given that......The two quadratic equations........

x²–x–6 and x²+3x–18

Then on factoring the first.....

x²–x–6
=>x²–3x+2x–6
=>x(x–3)+2(x–3)
=>(x–3)(x+2).........(1)

and now on factoring the second.....

x²+3x–18
=>x²+6x–3x–18
=>x(x+6)–3(x+6)
=>(x–3)(x+6)..........(2)

From equation (1) and (2) we can see that the (x–3) is the same factor of both equation

Then (x–3) will be the HCF of the equations.

on comparing (x–3) to the given HCF (x–a)

Then we can see......a = 3. <<<<<Ans.
