HCl does not give acidic solution in benzene. Why?

Benzene is a highly unreactive solvent and it is non-polar. HCl is polar, since whether the substance can dissolve into the solvent depends on the solubility, that means the rule of like-dissolve-like, their attraction between HCl and that of benzene are different, HCl cannot dissolve into benzene
