HCL IS CALLED STRONG ACID AND ACETIC ACID IS CALLED WEAK ACID WHY?????/

  • HCl is called strong acid because it completely disassociates into H+ ions and not OH- ions, when dissolved in aqueous solution since it is a diabasic acid it doesnot produce H3O+ ions
  • whereas acetic acid is weak acid because it doesnot completely disassociates into H+ or H3O+ ions. only the last hydrogen is displaced in CH3COOH...
