The proton concentration in the resulting solution is equal to 0.01 M.

  • 3.65%(w/v) of HCl means that 3.65 g of HCl is present per 100 mL of the solution.
  • So, 10 mL of the solution will contain 0.365 g of HCl in it.
  • Now if 10 mL of the solution is diluted to 1 L , the resulting solution has a volume of 1 L and contains 0.365 g of HCl in it.
  • Molarity of HCl in resulting solution is equal to the moles of HCl present in 1 L of the resulting solution(i.e. 0.365/36.5=0.01 M).
  • Concentration of proton will be equal to the HCl concentration since one proton is present per molecule of HCl.
