It is very toxic for insects if used in a proper amount. Otherwise, only narcosis will occur.

However, it is very toxic to humans that is why it is necessary to wear personal protective equipment while dealing with it because inhaling the gas causes unconsciousness and even death within few minutes.

It is not stored in liquid form anymore in US because it needs stabilizer. Otherwise, it can explode after decomposition.
