Human Development Index is an average statistic of life expectancy, education, and per capita income indicators. It is used to analyse whether the country is underdeveloped, developing or developed. It is used to measure the sustainability of the country. 

(i) Life Expectancy: Life expectancy is a basic human capability, it is the expected lifespan of a child. This helps to decide whether the medical conditions in the country are well or not. A low life expectancy indicates low medical facilities and vice versa. 

(ii) Education: Education indicates towards the human resource of the country. If the standard of education is low it indicates towards unskilled labour and vice versa. 

(iii) Per Capita Income: It is a very important component of the HDI. It shows the standard of living of the people of a country. If it is low it indicates the economic development of the country is low and vice versa.
