y = 13x /30 ...........(4)

Now put this value of y in Equation (3)

x + (13x)/30 = 516

(30x + 13x)/ 30 = 516

43x / 30 = 516

43x = 516*30

43x = 15480

x = 15480/43

x = 360

Putting value of x in Equation (4)

y = (13*360)/30

y = 4680/30

y = 156

Now ,

Cost price of shirt = x = Rs. 360

Cost price of tie = y = Rs. 156
