9 x + 10 y  = - 16

To Find : approximate solution for the system of equations

(–2.3, 0.5)

(–2.5, 1)

(–2.3, –0.5)

(–2.5, –1)

Solution:

8 x - 10 y = - 23

9 x + 10 y  = - 16

Add both

=> 17x  = - 39

=> x = - 39/17

=> x = -2.29

=> x = - 2.3

 8 x - 10 y = - 23  => 72x  - 90y  =  -207

9 x + 10 y  = - 16  =>  72x  + 80y  =  -128

=> 170y =  79

=> y = 79/170

=> y = 0.47

=> y = 0.5

(–2.3, 0.5)    is  approximate solution for the system of equations
