Answer:

600m

Explanation:

S1=s2

uA=20m/s

uB=10m/s

aA=1m/s2

aB=2m/s2

uAt+1/2aAt^2=uBt+1/2aBt^2

20t+1/2*1*t^2=10t+1/2*2*t^2

on solving we get t=20s

substituting in uAt+1/2aAt^2 we get

20*20+1/2*1*20^2

400+1/2*400

=600m

Distance between A and B is: 600m

Explanation:

Let say both car take time   t secs  to reach from A to B

Using formula

S = ut + (1/2)at²

Car 1

u = 20 m/s

a = 1 m/s²

t = t

=> S = 20t  + (1/2)(1)t²

=> S = 20t + t²/2

Car 2

u = 10 m/s

a = 2 m/s²

t = t

=> S = 10t  + (1/2)(2)t²

=> S = 10t + t²

10t + t²  = 20t + t²/2

=> t²/2   = 10t

=> t /2 = 10

=> t = 20

Putting t = 20

S = 10t + t²   = 200 + 400 = 600

Distance covered by both car = 600 m

Hence distance between A and B is: 600m
