Solution :-

Let the breadth of a rectangular field be x

Length = 2x - 8

Given : Perimeter of the rectangular field = 56 metres

According to the question,

=> Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

=> 56 = 2(2x - 8 + x)

=> 3x - 8 = 28

=> 3x = 36

=> x = 12

Length = 2x - 8 = 2 × 12 - 8 = 16 m

Breadth = 12 m

Hence,

The length and breadth of the rectangular field are 16 m and 12 m respectively.

Given :-

let breadth of rectanglular field = x m

So,

length of rectanglular field = 2x - 8 m

\rule{200}{2}

Perimeter if rectanglular field = 2(l + b)

_____________[ Put value of l and b]

56 m = 2( x + 2x-8)m

56 m = 2(3x - 8)m

56m = (6x - 16)m

6x = 56 + 16 m

6x = 72 m

x = 12 m

\rule{200}{2}

Breadth = 12 m

Length = 2(12)-8

= 24 -8

16 m
