In this sentence the word "keys" should be common noun, right?

But our English teacher is telling that "keys" is a material noun.

If you know how it is a material noun then please give me a reason for it .​​

I don't think that it is a material noun. As a material noun is the name of a substance from which materials are made. I mean no disrespect to the teacher, but I think it's common noun and not a material noun.
