He lost his bunch of keys

In this sentence the word "keys" should be common noun right?

But our English teacher is telling that "keys" is a material noun.

If you know how it is a material noun then please give me a reason for it .

bunch of keys is a collective noun. Here we r not talking bout 1 single key but instead r talking bout 2 or more than 2 and hence the word bunch is given which is a group word, it is a collective noun. When u have a group of something then the noun will be the whole group and as here u can't say that the noun is keys instead the noun here is 'bunch of keys'.
