A sentence having one main clause and at least one subordinate clause is called Complex sentence. A complex sentence has one independent clause and at least one dependent clause. In complex sentence we use mainly co-ordinating conjunction.

❐ In a complex sentence the subordinate clause is joined to the main clause by a subordinating conjunction. That, if, when, where, before, although, since, after, because, as are same subordinating conjunction.

For example:-
