Active voice: He reads a book.

Passive voice: A book is read by him.

Here when we change active voice to passive voice the following things should be kept in mind.

  • The structure of passive voice is Passive voice: Object + Verb + Subject.
  • Principal Verb from the Active Voice changes into Past participle in the Passive Voice.
  • In the passive voice, the object is being acted upon by the subject.
  • The meaning of the sentence generally remains the same with the only change occurring in the structure.
