Exclamatory sentences : If the direct form is an exclamation, the reporting verb is changed to some such as exclaim, pray, cry out, grief, wish, and the exclamation is turned into a statement. But new words and phrases have often to be introduced to express the full meaning. According to the reporting verb's meaning exclaim, joy, grief, pray, wish etc. will make the sentence into general statement.
