b) His mother wanted him to fly by making him walk off the ledge so that he would fly on his own.

c) When the young seagull dived at the fish, he walked off of the ledge he was standing on, and starting falling down. He was absolutely terrified, but it only lasted a minute, after which he felt his wings spread outwards, and before he knew it, he was flying.
