He wants to divide land into three parts, s.t. two parts to be given to his sons equally and third part stays with himself .So for that he puts points P and Q on AD and BC respectively, Such that, DP = 1/3 AD and QB = 1/3 CB. (i) Now find Which two parts will he give to his sons , also prove that the parts are equal. (3) (ii) Which shape of field does the farmer got for himself? Prove. (4) (iii) Now if the length of sides AD and CD are 36km and 17km. and CP = 25km,And the shortest distance between PC and AQ is 10km.Then find the areas of land for each of the son and the area that farmer will get for himself. (4) (iv) Now if the sides AD and AB are (3 + √5) units and (7 - √5) units. Then check whether the perimeter of field ABCD is rational or irrational? (2) (v)Now the two sons wanted to work upon the location of the land, So they being educated derived the equation for AD as 2x – y + 2 = 0 and taking coordinates of A as (-1 , 0) and taking AB as x axis with B(3,0), Equation for CD as y = 4 so the y coordinate of both C and D is 4. Using this data help them Find the abscissa of D and C. (3).
