In his entire experience as a thief Hari have never met a person like Anil. He asked for job from Anil and demanded for food in return.
Anil accepted and also promised to teach him how to write. Anil trusted Hari so much that now Hari too had his house's keys. Once Anil got some money and Hari thought that it was the opportunity for him to steal. At midnight he stole and ran out to railway station and could catch the leaving train but something stopped him. He went out from there and it started raining he thought that Anil wouldn't be sad because of the theft but because of the broken trust. On top of that, he wanted to learn how to write. So, he went back and placed the money back.
In the next morning Anil told him that he would be paid. In actual, he knew everything but didn't show.
