(1) On basis of duration there are two type of disease acute and chronic disease  

Acute Disease:- These disease appear suddenly , produce severe symptoms and last for short period are like Common cold , Cough, Diarrhoea etc.

Chronic Disease:- These disease develop gradually and last for long durations even several years to life long like Tuberculosis, Diabetes, Chronic heart disease etc.  

(2) The causes of disease can be broadly seprated into three level:-

   (a) Immediate or Primary Causes

   (b) Contributory or Secondary

    (c) Improper Facilities or Tertiary Causes
